PDO and PGI Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/h1>\n

The PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) quality labels were established by the European Community to safeguard the agricultural and food products whose qualitative characteristics are essentially or exclusively dependent on the geographic setting in which they are produced.
\nIn Europe, there are a total of 132 PDO and PGI extra virgin olive oils that are divided among Italy (49), Spain (32), Greece (31), France (7), Portugal (6), Croatia (5) and Slovenia (1). The list of products that have been granted these quality labels is continuously updated. Here you can find an overview all of the European PDO and PGI extra virgin olive oils.<\/p>\n
